The following images show a double story extension in Hartford, Cheshire we completed. The extension consisted of a very spacious lounge with two large radiators and under floor heating. The chimney stack was removed from the top to the ground floor to give room in the lounge.
The images tell the story of the home extension project that was completed to the highest-achievable standards.
When we originally went to the property, we provided the homeowners with detailed information on the comprehensive services that we offer. This entailed offering assistance with architectural drawings, planning and building regulations.
We make sure that we go the extra mile with every element of our home renovation services; more people are extending their homes and there are often many reasons for this including the increasing cost to move.
Improved technologies have meant that building materials are much-improved. This means that extensions are both energy efficient and stylish in their design. It is important that any extension fits with the design of the original building and works to compliment and boost your home. After all, it is an investment!
The outcome for this home was the creation of beautiful additional space. The original Hartford home was incredibly characteristic – by matching the brick and decorative timber we introduced a careful balance of classic design and new technologies.
Once it has been finished; we know we have done a great job if it feels as though it has always been there.
Little details mean a lot and it is our job to ensure that all aspects of the renovation run smoothly and that you, our valued client, are kept well-informed throughout the process. To request a detailed survey please call on 01606 40565.

For the home extension that we completed in Frodsham, we wanted to showcase the high standards we achieve in the completion of interior refurbishment projects that we complete.
This has proven to be a winning formula to us as we approach each job with the care and attention that it requires and the respect to offer the best-available and best-achievable finish.
Home improvement is a large undertaking and it is our wish to offer information and advice which seeks to provide assurance and confidence that we will do all that we can to ensure the smooth running of the entire project from start to finish.
The oak flooring on this project provided a classic and stylish finish and this coupled with the professional redecoration work offered a real statement of quality and refinement. Whether underfloor heating is fitted or not, an oak floor provides a functional and aesthetically pleasing floor covering.
The technologies behind insulation options now provide individuals with a space that not only offers more room, but that it is an energy efficient and useable area. It is often the case that an extension is better insulated than the original property.
We offer an innovative approach to redesign ideas and this comes from the experience that we have gained in a variety of projects.
We work to tailor the design to your individual requirements and this means that the end result will work best for you and your family. If you would like to discuss this further please call Simon Hindley Building Contractors on 07894 215123.

We were privileged to be offered the opportunity of extending this stunning home in Frodsham, Cheshire. The home-owners wanted a double storey extension to the rear of their property.
Prior to starting the house extension we discussed all elements of the job in fine detail. We worked closely with our clients to make sure that every question was answered and that they were confident that they had hired to best-available builders to complete the work.
There are many factors that need to be taken into account when contemplating a home improvement project. Once the project is complete, it is soon realised that the small detail is as important as the large decisions.
These are the elements that make the difference and leave you living in a functional, stylish extension that looks as though it fits seamlessly into your original home.
Firstly, we started to demolish the original extension in the conservation area. We then needed to erect steel work to carry out the first floor extension. The images show this part of the process and the specialist techniques employed.
The images tell the story of the project from start to finish; our attention to detail is paramount. We have built up a great reputation in Cheshire and beyond and as well as bringing time-served experience we aim to make sure that we manage the project from start to finish, offering a turn-key solution.
The images of the completed work showcases the final results; details such as matching the windows, the roof slates, bricks and style of the building can be over-looked. However, this emphasises the success of the build in that the extension looks in keeping with the original building.
We make sure to offer an open approach throughout our services from point of introduction to completion and beyond. Please call on 01606 40565 for more details or to arrange a free, no obligation quotation.

There has been a rapid increase in demand for laying artificial grass throughout Cheshire in recent times. The benefits of laying artificial grass are varied and include;
Appearance: it creates an even and attractive lawn covering. Artificial grass has come on leaps and bounds since its introduction; there are now many variations and types of grass available that allow you to tailor your choices.
Low maintenance: there are so many people that struggle with their grass throughout the year. A lot of money is usually invested in creating luscious grass only to find that the wet and the cold of our winters means that we face the same battle the following year. Having artificial grass means saving on time and up-keep of your lawn.
Durability: when fitted correctly artificial turf is incredibly durable. It is increasingly used in commercial venues as a long-lasting and low maintenance landscaping option. It is ideal for gardens with children, avoiding the inevitable muddy feet we all have to deal with.
Artificial lawns really do look great; we were invited to lay this lawn in Cheshire. The below images show the process of laying the turf and the incredible result that was achieved.
1) First we assessed the old grass area
2) We then cut a minimum of 75ml of old grass off and covered it with 4ml of dust aggregate. We then used a whacker plate to compact this until solid.
3) We then covered the area with a membrane; this lets water through from the top but no weeds can grow through from underneath.
4) The grass was then laid with the pathway.
5) The method of fixing down the grass depends on the soil underneath; if the garden is wet then it is necessary to dig a border around the edge. This is then filled with concrete.
6) A fixing agent is then used to glue down the borders.
7) If it is a dry area, we use a pegging system; neither of which is visible.
8) Finally the grass is covered with kiln dry sand and the stripes are brushed in.
Experience and expertise in this field has allowed us to build up valuable information, as the process of laying artificial grass varies depending upon the surface you are covering and planned use.
If you have any questions or would like us to provide a quote for artificial grass please call Simon on 07894215123. We look forward to the opportunity of working with you.

Home extensions are a brilliant way of increasing the size of your house and tailoring the space to match your individual family requirements.
This job was completed in Bowden, Cheshire and it was a utility extension. When we arrived to complete a quotation we were faced with a 40 year old property. On discussion, the client wanted an identical match on the original bricks and mortar.
We went the extra mile and researched the history of the bricks only to find out that both the bricks and mortar were discontinued. We persisted with our discussions with the supplier and they provided us with the coloured sand and mortar for bricks which were as close as we could get.
From this point each brick had to be rubbed down individually with a wire brush to get the right colour. This shows our commitment to our clients to provide the best possible finish with a promise of unrivalled levels of customer service.
Our clients were so pleased with the end result and thanked us for our perseverance as it really did make a bit difference to the success of the home improvement project. We employ this approach with every job that we take on.
We have built up a brilliant local reputation and this is based on offering superior building services throughout Cheshire. We look to provide information about the building process so that you are left feeling assured you are dealing with a professional company.

Loft conversions are a unique and creative way to extend unused space in your home. This home improvement choice transforms an often empty attic space into a practical and useable room. Not only will you create additional space but you will add value to your property.
We are finding that conversions of the loft area are growing in popularity as it allows for growing families to remain in their homes for longer if unable to move or wishing to avoid the costly expense of moving. Alongside this, a loft conversion will not take up valuable garden space.
There are numerous benefits linked with loft conversions as they;
– Are cost effective
– Are less stressful than moving homes
– Create additional and functional living space
We are on hand to offer information and advice on important considerations including building regulations, planning permissions and insurance coverage. There are also choices in design for loft conversions that will be tailored to your requirements and design. These include:
Velux: where Velux windows are installed flush with the existing roof line and do not alter the existing roof structure
Dormer: these are ideal for spaces with limited headroom. The design extends the existing roof structure and protrudes from the roof line
Mansard: the roof has two slopes, one nearly vertical and the other almost horizontal. This maximises all available space
Hip to gable: the gable wall is built up vertically and a new roof section is built, filling the space between them
We are able to offer professional advice based on years of experience and will work to make sure we provide the highest level of customer service alongside best trade practices. It is our responsibility to make sure your questions are answered and that you feel confident throughout your dealings with Simon Hindley Building Contractors.
We offer a full and comprehensive service to relieve the stress and pressure of building work being completed in your home. Loft conversions are a great home improvement solution and we invite you to contact us to find out more. We will work hard to earn your trust with best-possible results.
